He spent hours staring at that bloody box. His anger kept boiling inside him. Kane kept having flashbacks to the night, he came home, and saw the package on his doorstep. He knew something was amiss, when he saw the blood on the box, and the writing “Satan Spawn, you’re next.” After he took the box inside, he opened it, and saw his brother’s head, and the pictures of what The Order did to Heratio’s family.
He quickly snapped back to reality. “They killed a fucking baby!” Kane shouted, although no one could hear him, “a fucking child!” With tears flooding his eyes, Kane walked to the back garden, where he buried Heratio’s head. He knew what had to be done.
He stormed back inside, and booked his flight for Nice. The entire flight, Kane plotted. He was going to go through every church, until he got his information. No one was safe from the wrath of DeSade. After the plane landed, Kane took a taxi to the first church. Inside, he met Cardinal Francois Delany. “At least it’s someone familiar,” Kane thought to himself, noting that he was a demon in disguise.
“The Order. They’ve been here,” Kane told Delany. Delany was a tall man, about six feet, two inches tall. “You know why I’m here, father, and you know what the fuck I want.” Delany had the look of consternation on his face, “DeSade,” he snapped, “you have to calm down, boy. I have been working my connections. I have the information you need. Go and speak for Father LeSalle, he is expecting you. Please, be careful, he is a human.” Delany wiped the sweat from his brow, with his vestments. “Go, quick. The Order knows who I am, they will be coming soon. Kane, you are meant to end them.”
With that, Kane left the church, knowing it truly was the last time he’d see his friend Delany. He knew that if The Order knew about Delany, they would know that LeSalle was helping the demons, and that, is just as bad. Kane hurried to the church across Nice, but he was too late. The Order had already been there. LeSalle was laying on the floor, bleeding heavy. Kane did the best he could in stopping the bleeding, but it was much too late. LeSalle layed on the floor, near death.
He motioned Kane to come closer, and whispered in his ear, “Order must be…stopped. Kane. Trying to. Take. Over…ch..ch. Father next to di….” Before he could get it out, LeSalle died. Kane, holding LeSalle, is now very concerned.
Knowing that his friend Delany was in trouble, Kane raced back to the church. It was way too late. The church was covered in blood. The Order had slaughtered everyone. Men, women, children, everyone. The confessionals were covered in blood, the pews the same, and at the alter was Delany’s head, with the message “For Kane” carved into the forehead.
After throwing down the skull, a figure appeared in the shadows. “DeSade,” it called, “we meet at last.” The figure appearing was a bishop from The Order. He was bald, with a cross scarred in his forehead. His vestments still bloody from the massacre. The bishop readies his sword, and swings at Kane.
“You’ve fucked with the wrong demon. You kill my family, my friends, and expect to take, my head? You have signed your death warrant.” Just as Kane was ready to take a swing, with his sword, he caught another priest running towards him with a dagger. Kane, then quickly spins and slices the priest in the chest. This staggers the priest, but does not knock him down. Kane notices the bishop starting to thrust his sword, intending to take Kane in the back. Kane quickly sidesteps, making the bishop miss, and stab the kneeling priest in the eye.
The bishop pulls the blade from the priest, with the eyeball still attached to the blade. The priest falls to the ground, bleeding and half dead. “You fool, I should kill your for your incompetence,” the bishop sneered at the priest. “I’ll show you a small mercy,” and with that, the bishop decapitated the priest.
While the bishop finished his swing, Kane butt-ended the bishop with the end of his sword, causing the bishop to fall down and drop his sword in the process. Kane kicked the sword away from the bishop, and thrusted his sword keep into the mid-section of the bishop. Kane then picked the weakened bishop to his knees. “For the crimes against my family, I sentence you to death, any last words?” The bishop, weakened from the blood loss, mustered enough strength to spit at Kane. “If this is your last words, then so be it.” With a swoop of his sword, Kane cut the bishop’s head off.
He knew justice was served, but couldn’t stop himself. He picked up the priest’s head and threw it against the wall, causing the back of his head to burst open. Kane began a fit, knocking everything over, and screaming in the process. When he was done, he fell to his knees and cried. Kane, then, set the church on fire, and walked out calmly.
His clothes and sword still covered in blood. Even his demonic mind could not comprehend the massacred scene of the church. The horrors of that scene will haunt him, for the rest of his days. Yet, Kane walked away, with a sense of justice being carried out. He called his mother, “mark two more off the list, and call it a day,” he smirked, “the real message was sent to The Order.”
