The plan was in place. The rebel demons stood outside of the Lucifer’s castle. Ready to slaughter, and take over all of Hades. The march had been a long one. Bucon looked at his lover and general, Kane. “Are you ready?” He asked. “I’m about as ready as we can be, my lover,” Kane replied. There was this almost trance, the army seemed to be under. At this point, they knew they were into the death march, and if they were to be successful, there would be heavy casualties. They accepted their fate by this point. They knew, Lucifer was at his weakest.
The march began, the courtyard seemed the hardest, as some of Lucifer’s elite guards were training the new recruits that day. The recruits were sent first, and were no match for DeSade, who was trained as a warrior since birth. The elite knew this, and despite his pleas for a fight, no one would touch him. The same went for Bucon, as he was created from Lucifer, and had most of his traits.
That’s what made Kane fall in love with Bucon, he had Lucifer’s charm and wit. Kane was still young, and learning the ways of the world. Bucon thought Kane was completely brainwashed at this point. The sadistic smile the two shared, seemed like they could bring down every realm, with just one move.
The bloodbath continued through the castle. Room after room, nothing was spared. Yet, Lucifer had a plan to reach Kane, one last time. Little did Kane know that his own mother, Maria was in the castle with Lucifer. Maria had begged Kane not to do this, but now, she was willing to sacrifice her own life, to protect her Lord. She knew, if she couldn’t get to Kane, he was better off dead. She knew the path Bucon was going to lead Kane down. If anything, Kane was going to have to kill his own mother, because she did not want to live the nightmare.
Through the halls, they fought, the rebels taking heavy casualties, but Bucon and Kane stood, unscathed. They stood, outside the door. They stared into each others eyes. The knew, this might be the last time they embraced. “Are you ready, lover?” Bucon asked Kane. “Yes, it’s now or never,” Kane replied. They kicked down the door, and Kane was brought to his knees by his crying mother.
“Why Kane? Why are you turning on the one who gave you life?” Maria asked, but there was almost no answer from Kane. The war had begun in his mind. Then Maria said the words, that seemed to deactivate Kane from Bucon’s spell. “My son, if you want to kill Lucifer, you must kill me first. I will not watch humanity end. He is my lord and my creator. Don’t send one of your minions to do it, YOU kill me.”
Maria knew she had gotten to Kane, just by the look in his eyes. Tears began to roll down Kane’s face, but quickly, they dried. He knew what he had to do. He raised his sword, to cut his own mother’s head off, turned around, and began attacking the troops. Bucon stood in shock. One by one, Kane took out the rebels. Then, he had to face Bucon.
“Lover, what have you done?” Bucon looked betrayed, his eyes burning with hate, “if this is what you want, then I will end you here.” Back and fourth the fight would go, Bucon would stab Kane in the stomach, but Kane would counter, cutting one of Bucon’s legs off. The battle would rage on, until Lucifer, sensing Kane was back on his side, attacked Bucon from behind. “Kane, quick, if you are true, end him now,” Lucifer pleaded. Kane did exactly as he was told.
After the battle, Kane handed the sword to Lucifer, “I deserve no mercy, my lord. I betrayed you, and the price is death.” Kane got on his knees, in a position to have Lucifer cut his head. Instead, Lucifer showed the only act of mercy in the history of mankind. “Rise Kane,” Lucifer said, in a demanding tone.
As Kane rose, Lucifer grabbed his hand, “today, Kane, you showed true loyalty, even through betraying me. You will get what you deserve.” Lucifer then cut Kane’s hand open, and his own open. “You have dedicated yourself to me through blood, Kane,” Lucifer stated, “this is now your oath that you will never betray me again.” From that day, Kane swore to defend Lucifer at all costs. He is always a man of his word.
